Prevention and Early Intervention Program
The Prevention and Early Intervention Program (PEIP) is an innovative, evidence-based program offered by DeKalb Community Service Board (CSB) which aims to assess, engage, support, and treat individuals ages 9-25 that are at ultra-high risk for developing a psychotic disorder or are in their first episode of psychosis. Through this social media platform, we seek to connect youth and their families to help build relationships and create a meaningful social support network.
The DeKalb CSB’s First Episode Clinic, Listening, Inspiring and Guiding Healthy Transitions Early Treatment Program (LIGHT ETP), is available for those in their first episode of psychosis. We are based off the principles of the National Institute of Mental Health’s “Recovery After an Initial Schizophrenia Episode” (RA1SE) project. We offer a wide range of services needed for those experiencing their first episode of psychosis including: individual/group therapy, psychiatry, supported education/employment, certified peer specialists, nursing and case management services. If you believe you or a loved one could benefit from LIGHT ETP services please email PEIPreferral@dekcsb.org for more information. If you are experiencing an emergency dial 911. We do not offer clinical advice over phone or email.
PEIP is a part of DeKalb CSB which is a community-based behavioral health and developmental disabilities services organization located in metropolitan Atlanta, Georgia.
To provide access to the right service, for the right person, at the right time.
We envision a community in which psychotic illnesses no longer limit potential.
All PEIP inquiries and referrals should be made to our Director, Rachel Weissman, LCSW. She can be reached at PEIPreferral@dekcsb.org.
